Pamplona and the Bulls

Pamplona, in northern Navarra province,   carries the ghost of it's famous  St. Fermin, for whom the festival of the running of the bulls (July 6-16) was created. A tour through the Old Town this morning took us to the entry point and through the narrow streets where these beasts are released each year. Further along we arrived at the bull ring, no longer in use, to pay homage to the bust of Earnest Hemingway, who lived here, wrote about the festival in the early 1920's, and penned his famous "The Sun Also Rises". It was fun to walk the footsteps where he lived and ate/drank. A magnificent bronze structure depicting the "running of the bulls" stands nearby.
This is one of the starting points of the Camino de Santiago. But that's another blog.
