First things first in Bilbao. A rainy day was perfect for a (coach) overview of this city of 400,000, before our guide addressed my bucket list with a visit to the famous Guggenheim Museum, Frank Gehry's architectural masterpiece. The amazing steel, titanium, and glass building was complemented by its post modern interior displays, begging the question, "What is art and what is architecture?" This city, once a wealthy, seaport with a thiving steel industry, revived itself from financial crisis in the 1990's by staging a world-wide architectural competition for designing its public buildings. It now displays inovative works and bridges throughout the city.
